Rencontre avec la créatrice de bijoux Billie Hilliard

Cet été j’ai eu le Plaisir de rencontrer la créatrice de bijoux Billie Hilliard, originaire d’Atlanta en Géorgie.

Fin juillet 2014, la créatrice Billie Hilliard est de passage à Paris pour fêter son anniversaire de mariage.

C’est avec grand plaisir que nous nous sommes retrouvées  à l’hôtel Félicien by Elegancia dans le 16^ème arrondissement.

Billie Hilliard est née et a grandi à Houston dans le Texas. Aujourd’hui, c’est à Atlanta en Géorgie qu’elle vit avec son mari et ses filles, ville où elle a installé son atelier et où elle confectionne ses bijoux. Créatrice et femme d’affaire, Mrs Hilliard est la tête de la société Billie Hilliard LLC.

 

La création : Une passion qu’elle cultive depuis son plus jeune âge, à sept ans sa grand-mère Jimmie lui offre sa première machine à coudre ! Et c’est sans surprise qu’elle se dirige vers des études de Fashion Design, elle sera même modèle pour Neiman Marcus et United Colors of Benetton à la même époque.

Des créations faites main, inspirées des années 20, des différents voyages de Billie et de son univers très doux et raffiné.

La créatrice utilise la « Lost Wax Method » ou méthode de « la cire perdue » en français (technique de moulage utilisée à l’origine par les égyptiens) pour transformer ses  créations en bronze, or ou argent en bijoux, de véritables œuvres artistiques à porter.

Chaque pièce est unique, « Ethnique Vintage Élégance » c’est ainsi qu’elle qualifie sa marque, des bijoux hors du temps qui ne suivent aucune tendance. Des bracelets, colliers et bagues qui portent le nom d’un membre de la famille de Billie, par exemple le collier ou le médaillon « Jimmie » en hommage à sa grand-mère.

 

 

Artiste de talent, Billie Hilliard est aussi une femme au grand cœur qui aime donner et partager ; Chacun de ses voyages, chacune de ses rencontrer sont l’occasion pour elle d’échanger et de grandir. Billie me confie acheter ou collecter des accessoires, petits bijoux ou autres produits cosmétiques au fil du temps pour les donner à ses proches ou aux personnes qui croisent son chemin.

C’est de ce geste du cœur que la « Billie Box » voit le jour, une nouvelle manière d’offrir. En plus de son charmant contenu (bijoux, maquillage, accessoires …), cette box en elle-même est un cadeau, une œuvre réalisé avec le plus grand soin par la créatrice. Une mystérieuse clé qui laisse place à l’imagination, un message rédigé à la main par la jeune femme en personne, tout en cette box est magique.

Billie m’a remise cette fameuse box cadeau lors de notre entrevue, à mon retour à la maison, j’ai été agréablement surprise en l’ouvrant, en plus du plaisir des yeux, je suis envoutée par le doux parfum qui s’en émane…  Douceur, tendresse et délicatesse, c’est également ce que j’ai ressenti en lors de ma rencontre avec Billie Hilliard.

Plus qu’un cadeau, c’est un peu d’elle-même que nous offre l’adorable Billie.

Une femme touchante, attachante qui prend grand soin de ceux qui l’entoure, consciente de « ce don qui lui vient du ciel », Billie souhaite à travers ses bijoux, offrir, donner et partager à sa manière un bout de vie.

 

Un état d’esprit et un talent qui sont reconnus, ses créations sont portées par les plus grandes personnalités du moment.

Beyoncé, Robin Givens et  tout récemment l’actrice fraîchement oscarisée Lupita Nyong’o qui porte le bracelet « Ahjah » dans l’édito Mode du Vogue américain shooté au Maroc.

Une consécration pour l’artiste, qui est tout autant fière et touchée de voir ses œuvres portés par ses clientes ou les personnalités hollywoodiennes.

MEET JEWELRY DESIGNER BILLIE HILLIARD

 

This summer, I had the pleasure of meeting jewelery designer Billie Hilliard, a native of Atlanta, Georgia.

End of July 2014, Billie Hilliard is visiting Paris to celebrate her wedding anniversary. She invited me to meet her and discuss about her craft and her passion.

It is with great pleasure that we met at the hotel by Félicien by Elegancia in the 16th district of Paris.

Designer and Business Woman, Billie is the CEO and creator of Billie Hilliard, LLC Jewelry line.

 

 

Billie Hilliard was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She now resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and daughters, this is also where she designs her jewelry.

Creation: A passion she grows from a young age,h er Grandmother Jimmie, gifted her with her first sewing machine at the age of seven! And it’s no surprise that she goes to study Fashion Design, during her high school years she also modeled for Neiman Marcus and United Colors of Benetton

Handmade creations, inspired by the 1920’s, her travels and her very smooth and refined universe.

The designer uses the « Lost Wax Method » (molding technique originally used by the Egyptians) and casting to transform her creative brass, gold and silver visions into wearable forms of artistic expression.

Billie Hilliard introduces a unique “Ethnic Vintage Elegance” brand that she believes the fashion world has waited far too long for. The pieces are designed to be timeless and passed down. They are not dated and do not follow a trend.  Every piece, whether sharp and aggressive, or soft and gentle, is intended to represent those who wear them.

Bracelets, necklaces and rings named after some of her family members, for example the « Jimmie Necklace » of the « Jimmie Medaillon », homage to her grandmother.

 

 

Talented artist, Billie Hilliard is also a woman with a big heart who loves to give and share; Each trip, each of her meeting is an opportunity for her to share and grow. Billie told me that she buys and collects accessories, jewelry or other cosmetics products over time to give them to relatives or to those who cross her path.

This is from this act of kidness that the “Billie Box » was born, a new way to offer, in addition to its lovely contents (jewelry, makeup, accessories …), the box itself is a gift. A work of art created with the utmost care by the designer. A mysterious key that leaves room for imagination, an handwritten message by Billie in person, everything in this box is magical.

Billie handed me this cute box during our interview, when I returned home, I was pleasantly surprise when I opened it, I am bewitched by the sweet scent that emerges … Softness, tenderness and delicacy, this is also what I felt when I met Billie Hilliard.

More than a gift, it’s a bit of herself that the adorable Billie gives us.

 

 

 

A touching and endearing woman who takes great care of those around her. Aware of « the gift that comes from the sky, » Billie wants through her jewelry to offer, give and share in her way a bit of life.

A state of mind and a talent that are recognized, Billie’s creations are worn by the greatest personalities of the moment.

Beyoncé, Robin Givens and most recently the Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o seen wearing the « Ahjah » bracelet in Vogue US Fashion editorial shot in Morocco.

Vindication for the artist, who is equally proud and touched to see her work worn by her clients or by Hollywood personalities.
